Pokhara, 26th May. An over-head bridge is being built for the first time in Pokhara. This over-head bridge is believed to bring ease for the pedestrian in Srijana Chowk area.
Increment in movement of vehicles have led to traffic jam in city areas resulting difficulty for pedestrians to cross roads. As per the President of Ward-8 Rudra Baral, this over-head bridge is constructed with the total budget of 2 Crore 54 Lakhs.
Baral claims,” 85% of work has been completed and 15% is set to be finished in nearest days”. “The over-head bridge will be ready for people to step their foot on within this month of Jestha”, adds Baral.
Man Bahadur GC, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan has claimed to be researching on this project to build on other 5 chowks inside the city. GC has mentioned,” After the completion of over-head bridge in Srijanachowk, we are planning to head over on building same kind of over-head bridge in Prithivichowk.” However, the budget for this specific project is estimated to be around 3 crores.
Moreover, four lane roads are being constructed in main areas of the city. Mayar said, “For the well management of traffic jam, Traffic lights are also will be connected in 10 places inside the city.”
